It must be able to perform as well, preferably better than anything currently available. Why are we going to reinvent the wheel? If there's something already out there that's going to work ideal, there's no need to take and build something when we can buy something that's already engineered and proven, so it has to give the best performance possible, at least as well as what's commercially available, but preferably better.

Rugged durability. It must be stronger and more durable than anything currently available. Ideally, it would be able to survive hurricane force winds, limb strikes, ice buildup, extreme temperatures, and at least a 50-foot free fall drop. Most of your commercially available antennas in the that are fiberglass will fail this test.

No radials, no ground plane, no counterpoise. Just a vertical antenna, nothing sticking off of it.

No external choke, or a coax coil. Anything that has to be done to maintain any type of matching or any Any type to prevent common mode currents all has to be built into the antenna. One sleek design.

A SWR of at least 1.4 to 1 or better across the entire band and no less than a negative 20db return loss in the entire band.

Should be configurable in three versions, which vary from gain, pattern, and size.

One of those versions must be wife friendly, small size and intrusive.

The build quality must exceed current acceptable standards for an extreme lifespan of 20 plus years.

It must be able to amount to a metal mast without any degradation in performance.
